| I have a lovely holiday cottage adjoining my house. The cottage is situated in a pretty rural hamlet on the edge of the Eden Valley only half an hour from the Lake District. The area is a haven for wildlife lovers and bird watchers, there are pheasants, buzzards, woodpeckers and red squirrels inhabiting this lovely corner of Cumbria. The area is great for cycling and nearby attractions include the Settle to Carlisle Railway and Hadrians Wall. Guests are welcome to enjoy the fantastic views from the garden. Comfortably furnished the cottage has exposed stone work and flagged floors. There are two pubs in the nearby village of Kirkoswald serving good food. One mile further down the road is Lazonby where there is an excellent Co-op. |  living room |
